Who’s Driving Your Bus?
“If you do what you’ve always done, you’ll get what you’ve always gotten.” Anthony Robbins
Who is in charge of your life—you or your old programing and limiting beliefs?
Who is actually driving your bus?
Do you know who is in charge? Have you checked it out lately?
Is it the You who is living out an old, outdated story of who you were told you were?
Is it the You who still isn’t sure who you want to be when you grow up and is hoping someone will come along and save you?
Maybe you actually are in the drivers seat having a great time, and all you need is a little direction.
What bus idea ignites your interest? School buses? Guided Tour buses? Band buses? Snow coaches? Double-decker buses? What kind of bus came to your mind when you saw the title of this article? And why do you think it did? This is a good place to start. What kind of bus do you want to drive and why?
The goal as an adult really is to be the leader of your own life and the driver of you own bus, seated in the driver’s seat and controlling the wheel.
This month you can set yourself up to achieve a whole new level of Being in the world and a whole new way of Being in the world.
You can take the opportunity to examine your old belief systems and discover the You that lies beneath the you that you think you know. What can you learn about yourself? Who is the You waiting to lead you to your hopes, dreams, wishes and desires?
All of what you believe about yourself and what is possible for you to be, do and have was formed during those ‘magic’ years of age birth to 6 years old. The rest of your life you spend either rebelling against that or proving it to be true.
So take a look at your early childhood programming and how it is currently affecting your life. Work with your coach to walk through a process that helps make sense of why you think, believe, and act the way you do. Sort out what feels like you, what is truly yours, and what you chose to release and let go of.
If you are not where you mean to be, now is the time to find out what has been deflecting you. Gather information about who you think you are, and then get clear on who you want to be. It’s not difficult, but it does take focus and commitment, and it is liberating. Be present in the world, be present in the moment and be the change you want to see in the world.
It is time to Fish or Cut Bait! That’s an old saying that reminds you when it is time to decide. To either change or not – but to make a choice. You are being called to live a greater expression of yourself, to let go of your old story about who you think you are, and finally step into the new you that you choose to be from this moment on.
Life happens in the Now. It happens during those moments of clarity about what you want and how you want to be in the world, and it happens in theta. Now is the time to create the new you by allowing yourself to collapse the wave into the particle that is you, and know that you matter!
